In 1994, Audi was searching for a new logo to combine the four rings of Auto Union with the red, oval Audi logo. Our winning design for the competition was absolutely futuristic at the time: we chose three-dimensional rings, having predicted a future decline in print media and continued growth in three-dimensional media. This was an extremely challenging project in terms of graphics, at a time when Illustrator and Photoshop were in their infancy.
